Back BN, PH candidates for political stability, Johari tells Selangor voters

Umno vice-president Johari Ghani says political stability and capable leaders are a must for effective federal and state governments.

Johari Ghani said capable leaders were needed to drive the economy and bring benefits to the people.
PETALING JAYA:
Umno vice-president Johari Ghani has called on voters in Selangor to back Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) as both coalitions had a good track record in governing the state.

“BN had governed Selangor for 60 years before we lost and PH took over.

“But we can see that PH is also doing well in developing the state,” he said during a walkabout at the AU2 Setiawangsa morning market with the PH candidate for Hulu Kelang, Juwairiya Zulkifli.

Juwairiya is in a straight fight against Perikatan Nasional’s Azmin Ali, the former Selangor menteri besar and three-term Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman.

Johari said the foundation for an effective federal and state government rested on political stability and capable leaders to drive the economy and bring benefits to the people, New Straits Times reported.

“There will be issues if both are not present.

“In other countries, the day after the elections, discourse on politics usually subsides. But it is different in Malaysia as even after polling day, we continue to talk about it.

“If we only talk about politics every day, the issues faced by the people will remain unresolved and the ones who suffer will also be the rakyat,” he was quoted as saying.
