The two victims were believed to be staying with their grandmother as their mother is in confinement.
PETALING JAYA:
A man allegedly threw his three-year-old nephew off the first floor of an apartment building in Sungai Pinang, Penang, yesterday.

He also allegedly hurled his niece, who is 40 days old, to the floor, causing injuries to her head, Berita Harian reported.

The 29-year-old suspect, who was arrested by the police following the 3.40pm incident, is believed to have slit his wrists before injuring the two children. Both victims are being treated in a hospital.

The children were said to be staying at their grandmother’s house as their mother was in confinement.

A family member, who wanted to be known only as Taiyoob, 31, said he heard the grandmother scream for help before he found the suspect covered in blood.

Timur Laut police chief Soffian Santong, who confirmed the incident, said the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
