According to a source, the 36-year-old unemployed man was arrested at Lorong Tiong Nam in Chow Kit here at 10pm yesterday.
The source said the results of the initial investigation found that the man was not satisfied with PAS’ stand on political cooperation.
“We also found that the suspect has 16 criminal records, including nine for drug offences,” he told Bernama.
The man will be remanded today for further investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for vandalism.
On Saturday, PAS lodged a police report after a man threw stones at the glass wall of the party’s headquarters.
At a press conference on the launch of Op Cantas in conjunction with the state elections the same day, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain confirmed that a report had been filed.
He was reported to have said the incident occurred at 5.30am and that the police were tracking down the suspect with the help of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
“In the incident, the suspect, who was riding a motorcycle, had made some noise before hurling stones at the glass wall of the building.
“Guards on duty in the building witnessed the incident,” he said, according to Bernama.
