Syed Ahmad had produced “Aduh Malaysia”, which was used as the PH anthem at the November 2022 general election.
He said he would not be releasing a new song in conjunction with the Selangor state assembly elections, in which he is contesting the Lembah Jaya seat.
“Perhaps we will release another song that is unrelated to this,” he told reporters after filing his nomination papers today, Bernama reported.
He said he wanted to make Lembah Jaya a liveable place for people from all walks of life and help residents get incentives and assistance offered by the state government.
Syed Ahmad, 44, who is Ampang PKR division chief, is in a straight fight against Sharifah Haslizah Syed Ariffin of Perikatan Nasional, who is a member of the Selangor PAS muslimat council.
Sharifah Haslizah, known as Cikgu Sharifah, said she was undaunted by the competition even though the constituency is considered PKR’s stronghold.
Having served as a councillor for the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council in 2013, she said she is a familiar face among the residents.
Lembah Jaya was won by Haniza Talha (PH-PKR) in the 2018 elections with a majority of 14,790 votes defeating Muhamad Nizam of Barisan Nasional, Khasim Abdul Aziz (PAS) and Norizwan Mohamed (Parti Rakyat Malaysia).
