Election Commission (EC) chairman Abdul Ghani Salleh said the nomination for candidates will take place on July 29 while early voting is set for Aug 8.
He also told a press conference it will cost an additional RM460,000 to conduct the by-election.
On June 27, the Terengganu election court nullified the victory by PAS’ Ahmad Amzad Hashim in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat in GE15 following allegations of vote-buying.
Ahmad won the seat after garnering a majority of 40,907 votes, beating Barisan Nasional’s Zubir Embong.
The seat has been held by PAS since 2013.
Ahmad, a former deputy science, technology and innovation minister, had first won the seat in 2018.
Previously, Terengganu Umno filed three election petitions to challenge Perikatan Nasional’s GE15 victories in Marang, Kuala Terengganu and Kemaman.
Umno alleged that there was vote-buying during the campaign period and that most households in the constituencies received RM500 to RM1,000 each.
PN’s wins in Marang and Kemaman, by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Che Alias Hamid, respectively, were upheld by election courts.
