Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar claimed trial to intending to insult the modesty of the lance corporal and a member of the public, as well as criminal intimidation towards another civilian, Berita Harian reported.

Sheila was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code with intimidating a woman and faces up to two years’ jail or a fine, or both, if convicted.

She was also charged with intending to insult the modesty of a man under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum five-year prison sentence or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Magistrate Chai Guan Hock allowed her bail of RM3,000 in one surety.

In a separate court, Sheila was charged with intending to insult the modesty of lance corporal Abdul Arif Farhan Abdul Razak. Magistrate Nor Hafizah Rajuni granted bail of RM2,000.

All three offences were allegedly committed at an eatery at Taman Sri Gombak here around noon on June 15.

Sheila’s lawyer, M Manoharan, pleaded for a lower bail amount earlier, saying she had been in the police force since 2016.

Manoharan said Sheila’s brother was also serving in the force, and their father had served in the police for 39 years before retiring with the rank of assistant superintendent.

In one of the videos that went viral, a woman could be heard telling a policeman he should not act like the district police chief.

Another video showed the woman apparently mocking an individual at a car park in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, while streaming a “live” video with her phone.

Home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail had said the police integrity and standards compliance department had also opened six separate investigations into the matter.
