PM announces additional RM1bil for development in Negeri Sembilan

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says this brings the total allocation for Negeri Sembilan to RM1.27 billion.

SEREMBAN:
The government has approved an additional RM1 billion to carry out various development and infrastructure projects in Negeri Sembilan, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

In his speech at the state-level Hari Raya open house here, Anwar said this raises the total allocation for the state to RM1.27 billion., Berita Harian reported.

He added that the extra allocation would be used to build new roads and bridges, schools and houses of worship. It will also be used to upgrade health clinics.

Anwar also announced the construction of a new highway exit to the Seremban Inner Ring Road at a cost of RM600 million.

Another project is a bridge and road across Sungai Sepang in order to link Bukit Pelanduk in Port Dickson to Sungai Pelek in Sepang, he said, adding that it would be built at a cost of RM160 million.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that RM280 million had been set aside for improving education facilities, which included the repair of dilapidated schools.

Anwar also said that RM5.8 million will be used to repair health clinics in Jelebu, Jempol, Kuala Pilah, Port Dickson, Rembau, Seremban and Tampin, while RM318 million has been earmarked for the construction of new mosques.

This is the third “Madani Malaysia Open House” Anwar has attended after the one in Penang yesterday and the celebration in Kedah last Saturday.

Anwar is scheduled to attend three more state-level Hari Raya open houses in Kelantan, Terengganu and Selangor on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
