No one was injured in the incident at Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, according to the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department.
In a statement, it said an emergency call was received about the incident at 1.54pm and a team of eight firefighters was despatched to the scene.
Senior operations commander Yogeswaran Elangovan said upon their arrival, the team found that the landslide had caused a guard post to collapse.
Yogeswaran added that the landslide affected an area covering 100-120 sq feet.
Kuala Lumpur City Hall, the public works department (JKR) and Air Selangor have been notified for remedial action to be carried out at the site.
Meanwhile, Bernama later reported that the landslide was believed to have been caused by stagnant water and a broken underground pipe next to the academy’s entrance.
Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai said JKR’s slope forensic unit carried out an analysis and found that the stagnant water outside the entrance was possibly due to heavy rain over the past three days.
“In addition, JKR also detected a broken underground pipe and both these factors resulted in water not flowing out, thus, causing the landslide,” he told reporters when met at the scene today.
