Wangsa Maju district deputy police chief Saralathan Duraisamy said the boy, who was living in block B of the condominium complex in Jalan Langkawi with his mother, was on his way back from a religious class in block A.
“He went down to the fifth floor which has a bridge that connects the two apartment blocks.
“The victim was believed to have climbed out of the window as he could not open the door (to the bridge) which required an access card,” said Saralathan in a statement.
Both the boy and his mother are registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and have been living in Malaysia since 2017.
Saralathan urged those with information on the incident to contact the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters at 03-9289 9222 or the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-2115 9999, or to go to the nearest police station.
