Wan Fayhsal wants Rayer referred to Rights and Privileges Committee

The Machang MP denies filing a police report against the prime minister and Lim Guan Eng, saying it was lodged by Bersatu Youth members.

Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal claimed that DAP’s RSN Rayer made ‘malicious insinuations’ against him in the Dewan Rakyat.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal wants DAP’s RSN Rayer to be referred to the Dewan Rakyat’s Rights and Privileges Committee for allegedly making “malicious insinuations” against him in the House.

Wan Fayhsal said Rayer did so by claiming that the Bersatu Youth chief had lodged a “false” police report against Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng.

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) leader said the report against Lim was not filed by him but by Bersatu Youth members.

“I only read the police report out (to the media),” he told a press conference at Parliament today.

He accused the Jelutong MP of breaching the Dewan Rakyat’s Standing Orders and called for action to be taken against him.

“This is so that Jelutong (Rayer) does not make any more negative presumptions against us in the Dewan Rakyat,” he said.

Last week, Wan Fayhsal said Bersatu Youth had lodged a police report against Lim and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over the tax exemption issue involving Albukhary Foundation.

He had previously backed the claim by PN chairman and Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin that Lim had cancelled the tax exemption given to the foundation while he was the finance minister, saying Muhyiddin had not lied about the matter.

Lim then accused Wan Fayhsal of committing a criminal offence by lodging a “false police report” against him and Anwar.
