Amirudin said that he and Izham Hashim merely represented the interest of the state government as Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB) board members.
Izham is the state councillor in charge of infrastructure and public amenities, agriculture modernisation and agro-based industry.
They had no vested interest, Amirudin said.
“So, there is no conflict of interest or abuse of power. It is a foolish claim made by the person,” he said at a press conference, referring to Selangor Perikatan Nasional information chief Shukor Mustaffa.
“We sit on the board to ensure the project is carried out smoothly.”
Earlier today, LLSB, an environmental sustainability company, defended Amirudin and Izham against allegations that the duo had abused their power after the firm was awarded the project.
LLSB is a subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI), of which Amirudin is also a board member.
Shukor claimed that the project, known as the Selangor Maritime Gateway, had been awarded through direct negotiation – a charge which an aide to Amirudin has denied.
Amirudin went on to say that the police report lodged by PN was nothing more than an ineffective attack on his administration.
“They can try again in future.”
The Selangor Maritime Gateway will see the widening and deepening of the Klang river from Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur, to Port Klang.
