Cuepacs secretary-general Abdul Rahman Nordin said action can be taken against those who filed false complaints.
“If there is proof, especially from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), it will be even better. They can file a suit against those who lodged the false complaints” he told FMT.
Yesterday, FMT reported on a civil servant who fell victim to a barrage of false complaints.
It was learnt that a group of women in their 20s were targeting civil servants by making false complaints through the public complaints management system.
The information can be accessed by the Public Complaints Bureau, ministries, government agencies and state governments.
The woman, who was subsequently questioned by an integrity officer, claimed that five members of the group used multiple email accounts to lodge complaints against civil servants.
This group had employed such a strategy to prove that their targets were “really problematic”.
The victim said MCMC later confirmed that numerous complaints about her originated from this particular group.
Rahman said a thorough investigation should be carried out first before taking action on the civil servants based on the complaints lodged, in view that the system has been abused.
