Hamzah said the rakyat was anxious due to the government’s “weakness, inefficiency and abuse of power”.
“Less talk, more work and deliver results to the rakyat,” said Hamzah while debating the King’s address in the Dewan Rakyat.
“When we talk a lot, sometimes we tend to forget that we are actually highlighting our flaws.”
Hamzah also accused the government of failing to solve issues related to the rising cost of living, a matter which Pakatan Harapan had highlighted during its campaign for the 15th general election (GE15).
Citing the egg shortage as an example, the Bersatu secretary-general lamented that the issue had yet to be resolved despite millions of eggs being imported from India by the government.
He also said the rakyat was unhappy with the imported eggs as they were much more expensive and smaller than locally produced eggs.
“During the GE15 campaign period, the Tambun MP (Anwar Ibrahim) and some of the ministers said that if they took over the government, all problems would be settled.
“The reality is that not only has this egg issue not been resolved, but now vegetable prices have gone up by 160%,” he added.
