KUALA LUMPUR:
The full report on the tragic Batang Kali landslide is still in the works, says natural resources, environment and climate change minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

Nik Nazmi said the public will be informed when the full report is out.

“The Cabinet will (also) be meeting tomorrow, so we’ll see how then,” he briefly told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

Previously, Nik Nazmi said a preliminary report on the landslide had been presented to the Cabinet on Jan 4.

He also said the report, which was prepared by his ministry through the minerals and geoscience department, and the survey and mapping department, had also been read by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The early morning incident on Dec 16 claimed the lives of 31 people, including 13 children. Another 61 people who were trapped in the landslide were pulled out safely during the search and rescue operations at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite.
