Cops break up fights between PN, PH supporters

Three Light Strike Force units were deployed to break off the rioters, and the situation was brought under control.

Sungai Petani police broke off a fight between supporters of Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan here at Dataran Zero which led to traffic disruption.

A video clip sighted by FMT shows supporters of both coalitions hitting one another with party flags, and then getting into fistfights.

In a statement, Sungai Petani district police chief Zaidy Che Hassan said that the three Light Strike Force (LSF) units were deployed to break off the rioters at 2.50am and the situation was brought under control.

An investigation paper has been opened for undue influence and rioting.
