Isham Jalil, the BN candidate for the Shah Alam parliamentary constituency, said the laxity in dealing with the problems stemmed from PH having scored big victories in three previous elections.
“So basic issues and complaints are ignored. This is what happens when you win with a huge majority. They do not do any work and there is no check and balance,” he said in an open letter to voters in the constituency.
When they knew voters were angry with them, these politicians would move to contest in another constituency and would try to win the seat by inciting the people, Isham said.

He also said he would strive to solve the state’s water woes, adding he had raised the matter before.
“Yet, the water woes persist,” he said.
If elected as Shah Alam’s MP, he would be able to serve as a check and balance to the state government, if it remains led by PH.
“I am sure if this happens, the PH-led state government will wake up and will be forced to work for the people and not ignore their concerns,” he told voters.
