PETALING JAYA:
Barisan Nasional (BN) treasurer Hishammuddin Hussein has rubbished claims that he met with Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders to discuss a possible alliance after the general election.

He said it was another “slanderous” claim made by Pakatan Harapan chairman Anwar Ibrahim.

“First he accused our military of receiving RM300 to vote. When we asked him to provide proof to the authorities, he stayed silent. Now, this?” he said in a tweet.

Last week, Anwar claimed that military personnel, particularly those in Bera, were paid RM300 to cast their ballots, an allegation which Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob denied. Ismail is defending the seat in the 15th general election.

“Enough is enough!” said Hishammuddin.

Earlier today, Anwar claimed that PAS and Bersatu leaders had met with several Umno leaders. PAS and Bersatu are part of PN.

Apart from Hishammuddin, PN leaders were alleged to have also met with Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan.

Mohamad has since brushed off the claims, saying he was unaware of any negotiations between leaders of his party and those of PAS and Bersatu as alleged by the PKR president.

He also said that such claims were merely a campaign tactic.

Anwar’s allegations came in the wake of a report quoting PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan on the possibility of BN and PN forming the next federal government.

Takiyuddin later clarified that his remark had been taken out of context.
