The former Ampang MP, who will be defending her seat in the coming polls, said “there was no issue” when asked about her suspension by party president Larry Sng last week.
“There’s no issue as we want to move forward. We want to focus on the general election,” she told reporters after the party had introduced the candidates for the Segamat and Hulu Selangor parliamentary seats.
On the issue of the presidency, Zuraida said the matter would be looked into after the general election.
“We agreed to look into the matter after the general election. Now we are preparing to win our seats,” she said.
Both Sng and Zuraida had been going back and forth over who was the rightful PBM president.
Amid their dispute, Sng had suspended 13 Supreme Council members, including Zuraida, the party’s secretary-general and its information chief.
Yesterday, PBM’s communications department said the matter had been resolved and the party’s top leadership had agreed that Sng would sign the watikah (appointment letter) for its candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).
PBM was formed by Sng, who became its president, while Zuraida was named “president-designate” when she joined the party.
On Sunday, RoS director-general Nawardi Saad confirmed that Sng was still PBM president. However, Zuraida insisted that she was the rightful president.
