PETALING JAYA:
A Gerakan leader said DAP should stop using Bukit Bendera as a training ground for MPs, only to have them “replaced” after serving the constituency for a single term.

Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong said such tactics were irresponsible.

He cited examples of such one-term representatives from the party such as Liew Chin Tong, Zairil Khir Johari and Wong Hon Wai.

The trio served single terms as MP for the constituency.

Syerleena Abdul Rahshid, who was elected the Seri Delima assemblyman in the last general election, will stand in Bukit Bendera in the 15th general election.

“This shows DAP has absolutely no respect for voters in Bukit Bendera and views the constituency as a training ground,” Oh said in a statement.

He called on voters to reject DAP, adding that they should not vote for those “who only aim to be one-term MPs”.
