The party’s deputy president, Amira Aisya Abd Aziz, said this was to ensure Muda and PH could move forward together in preparing for GE15.
“People are asking, ‘Which seat will Muda contest?’” she said in a Facebook post.
Amira said formal discussions have yet to begin and that she has reached out to PH leaders seeking a meeting with its presidential council on the matter.
“But as of now, no official meeting has been decided upon,” she said, adding that Muda has been informed that the distribution of seats will be announced soon.
Amira also said Muda has agreed to PH’s three conditions for their electoral pact, including the party’s backing for PH’s prime ministerial candidate.
The other two conditions are that no party would demand to contest in seats held by their respective incumbents, and that Muda will need to obtain the PH presidential council’s permission if it wanted to work with other parties.
Previously, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said the coalition was only considering an electoral pact with Muda for GE15 instead of admitting it as a component party.
Anwar said it would be difficult to bring Muda in as PH’s fifth component party as it would need to be approved by the Registrar of Societies.
