PN yet to decide on logo for GE15

This follows PAS' decision to use its 'moon' logo in the three states it controls.

PAS’ suggestion to use its own logo, as opposed to the PN logo, in the three states it controls needs to be discussed, says Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
PETALING JAYA:
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) Supreme Council will meet soon to finalise the coalition’s logo for the 15th general election (GE15).

Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan said all the component parties had presented their views and proposals on the matter.

“In PN, until a final decision has been made, each party is free to offer their views and suggestions.

“For me, PAS’ suggestion (to use its own logo) needs to be discussed. I’m sure it will be discussed at the PN Supreme Council level.

Wan Saiful Wan Jan.

“We have had meetings on this before but nothing was finalised,” he said, adding that the logo would be finalised before the candidates are named.

On Friday, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said the party had decided to use its own logo in the three states it controls – Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

However, he said the party is open to using the PN logo in the other states.

PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin previously said the coalition’s partners, which also includes Gerakan, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), had agreed to campaign under the PN logo.

PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said yesterday the party’s decision to use its logo in the three states had received the “green light” from PN leaders.

He said Muhyiddin had issued a statement saying he understood the rationale, which he took to mean that the decision had been made for all PN candidates to campaign under the PAS logo in these states.
