
Bukit Aman secretary Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said police received a report that the document – which is classified under the Official Secrets Act – had been uploaded on the Malaysia Today portal.
“The case is being investigated by the D5 classified criminal investigation unit,” she said in a brief statement.
Noorsiah added that the police were investigating the leak under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act 1927 (OSA), Section 203A of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA).
On Sept 30, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob ordered that Thomas be investigated for sedition and several other offences arising from the contents of his controversial memoir.
The book, titled “My Story: Justice in the Wilderness”, was published in January last year.
The probe against Thomas follows 19 findings identified by a special task force formed to look into allegations in the book, including claims against the judiciary, exposing government secrets, abuse of power, professional negligence, and seditious statements.
