PETALING JAYA:
Two sports utility vehicles (SUVs) collided at a traffic light in Klang before ploughing into two motorcyclists opposite them, killing one of the bikers.

Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said the collisions occurred at about 2pm, when a Nissan X-Trail in the left lane made a right turn at the Jalan Meru-Jalan Haji Sirat traffic lights.

Another Nissan X-Trail on the right lane was heading straight, causing a collision between the two cars, resulting in them crashing into two motorcyclists waiting at the traffic light. One of them was a Grab deliveryman.

One of the X-Trail vehicles also crashed into a Proton Waja which also stopped at the traffic light.

Vijaya said the 34-year-old delivery rider died at the scene. The other motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital.

“Both drivers of the Nissan X-Trails, aged 20 and 24, have been arrested for further investigation for causing death by reckless and dangerous driving.”
