IPOH:
The widow of the pilot who died in the helicopter crash in Bidor, Perak, has claimed his body from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun here.

The woman, who only wanted to be known as Leung, said her husband, Richard Chan, would be cremated in Ipoh.

She said she would return to Hong Kong with his ashes to carry out his religious rites.

However, she refused to reveal further information on where and when the cremation would take place.

Chan, 58, died when the helicopter crashed in the Chikus forest reserve on Sept 11.

He had taken off in the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter belonging to a private company from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor.

He was flying from Subang to Ipoh when he lost radio contact with the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre at 12.16pm. His last reported location was around a forest area near Bidor.

The helicopter was supposed to land at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here at 12.37pm, an hour after departing Subang.
