After pile-up, motorcyclists berate driver who stopped in emergency lane

Three motorcycles and two cars were involved in the collision after a motorist stopped because his pregnant wife was feeling nauseous.

The three motorcyclists involved suffered minor injuries while the vehicles had minor damage.

IPOH; Police are investigating a viral video showing a group of motorcyclists berating a motorist on the emergency lane of the North-South Highway near Sungkai yesterday.

Muallim police chief Hasni Mohd Nasir said investigations showed that the car driver, aged 34, had stopped in the emergency lane because his pregnant wife was feeling nauseous.

“As he was about to continue his journey (from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh), a Toyota Alphard suddenly entered the lane causing him to brake.

“A Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle which was passing through managed to brake but was hit by a Honda RS150R motorcycle which went on to hit the Alphard.

“Soon after that, a Benelli RFS150 motorcycle hit the Honda motorcycle from behind. Enraged by the collision, the motorcyclists started to vent their anger on the car driver,” he said in a statement today.

He said all the motorcyclists involved suffered minor injuries while the vehicles were slightly damaged. He also urged the public to stop sharing the video.
