Maha expo site to be kept open as agro-tourist attraction

A padi field pavilion would be made a permanent agro-tourism site, says the agriculture and food industries minister.

SERDANG:
The Malaysian Agro Exposition Park here is to be kept open year-round as a permanent site for agro-tourism exhibitions.

Agriculture and food industries minister Ronald Kiandee said a padi field pavilion there would be made the adopted project of the rice industry development department, together with Padi Beras Nasional Bhd.

“This padi pavilion will be made a permanent agro-tourism site to be promoted throughout the year and not just when the Malaysian agri-horticulture exposition (Maha) is held.

He said the site is left deserted after every Maha show. The 2022 exhibition ended today after recording more than 1.4 million visitors and registering sales of over RM260 million, exceeding its set targets.
