
Rosman Ahmad, 58, also said that he had come to terms with the death of his daughter, Hajar Nursyahirin, and that of his grandson, three-month-old Hans Mohd Thakif Amir, Bernama reported.
Rosman said he had met with his son-in-law’s family and they had apologised for what he did.
“We (my family) forgive him. We should not judge (a person) without knowing (the reason for his action).
“We hold no grudge, my son-in-law and his family are good people,” Rosman was quoted as saying.
The restaurant owner also asked the public not to speculate over the incident.
Hajar and her son were buried in a common grave today.
Both mother and baby were slashed to death, allegedly by her husband at a house in Kampung Bakar Batu, Johor Bahru.
The 24-year-old ship cleaner was arrested by police after he fled naked on a motorcycle. Police also seized a cleaver from him.
Meanwhile, Johor police chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said they were still investigating the motive behind the murder.
