Zero deaths from Covid-19 reported, says Khairy

The health minister said this was the first time no deaths were reported since December 18, 2020.

Malaysia has recorded a total of 35,732 deaths related to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that Malaysia will be reporting zero deaths from Covid-19 for the first time since December 18, 2020.

“Our ongoing transition to endemicity has been calibrated and data driven, let us pray it continues paying off,” he said in a statement.

In April, Khairy announced that the country had entered the transition into the endemic phase.

According to the health ministry, Malaysia has recorded a total of 35,732 Covid-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic. This includes 28,153 inpatient deaths and 7,579 who were brought in dead (BID).
