Cops nab man who ran amok on highway near Kuala Kangsar

Perak police chief Mior Faridalathrash Wahid says the 36-year-old suspect was detained at his house in Kuala Lumpur.

Police have detained a man who allegedly ran amok after stopping his car on the right lane of the North-South Expressway near Kuala Kangsar, Perak, on Sunday.

Perak police chief Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the 36-year-old man was detained at his house in Taman Setapak Permai, Kuala Lumpur, at about 9pm on Monday.

“We believe that the suspect was under the influence of drugs during the incident.

“The investigation paper will be referred to the state public prosecutor today for further action,” he said when contacted here today.

It is learnt that the suspect would be charged in court tomorrow.

A viral video showed a man standing on the right lane of the highway before going on a rampage. He was clutching a gold chain and climbed onto a nearby car before kicking another vehicle.
