Its secretary Aliakbar Gulasan said the party is actively working on building its support base in the constituencies.
“We’ll be frank, the central leadership is expecting us (the state chapter) to field candidates for GE15. There are parliamentary seats that we are sure of winning,” he said at a teacher’s day event in SMK Bandaraya.
“We have set a target, and you can be sure that we will be contesting in GE15 although we do not know how many seats yet.”
Aliakbar, one of six appointed assemblymen, did not reject the possibility that PAS would contest the Sepanggar parliamentary seat, which is currently held by Warisan’s Azis Jamman.
Aliakbar said Sabah PAS has yet to finalise its potential candidates, but assured that they will include youths, non-Muslims and professionals.
