
His lawyer Rajsurian Pillai told reporters that Fahmi was arrested at 4.20pm at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters (IPD).
“The police confiscated a mobile phone and SIM card for investigation purposes.

“They will be applying for a remand order tomorrow,” he said.
The lawyer said police were investigating Fahmi under the Sedition Act as well as the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA).
When contacted by FMT, Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya confirmed that Fahmi was arrested by officers from Bukit Aman at the IPD.
Earlier today, Fahmi tweeted that he was summoned by the police over the satirical cartoon he uploaded on social media yesterday.
The drawing was that of an ape in headgear and yellow attire similar to that worn by royalty.
Fahmi had in February claimed trial to charges of allegedly insulting PAS and former health minister Dr Adham Baba.
