
PETALING JAYA: The police are tracking down six detainees from Jelebu prison in Negeri Sembilan who escaped after they were taken to court today.
District police chief Maslan Udin said seven men had escaped at 3pm, but one of them, Sohaimi Khalid, 50, was captured in an oil palm plantation 2km from the prison about four hours later.
He said the other six who were still wanted were Mazlan Samah, 39, Mohamad Aminuddin Khan Mohd Yusof, 28, Shazuan Md Sharif, 32, Mohd Zairizan Zainal, 42, Muhammad Syafiq Rohmat, 32, and a man known as Zainuddin.
He said investigations were also being conducted into any negligence in handling a person under custody, Bernama reported.
Maslan said all the seven prisoners were on remand.
