PETALING JAYA:
Pejuang has announced a change of candidate for the Endau seat in the Johor polls after its initial pick, Zaini Tahar, tested positive for Covid-19.

Noorhisyam Ibrahim is the replacement candidate.

Pejuang information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin confirmed this in a statement today.

“Regretfully, our candidate for the Endau seat, Zaini Tahar, has tested positive for Covid-19.

“He was not present at the announcement ceremony in Muar yesterday,” he said.

The party will be contesting 42 out of the 56 state seats and is going solo in the upcoming Johor state elections.

At a press conference yesterday, party president Mukhriz Mahathir said most of Pejuang’s candidates were new faces, with four being women.

Johor will go to the polls on March 12 with early voting taking place on March 8. The Election Commission will be accepting nominations for the state elections tomorrow.
