Home minister Hamzah Zainudin said he will raise the matter with these agencies, Bernama reported.
Yesterday, the health ministry said the 10 had tested positive upon returning to the country.
The 10 were out of 17 Omicron cases who were found to have been unvaccinated. The remaining seven were foreigners.
Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin said an investigation has been started to determine how these 10 Malaysians were allowed to travel overseas without getting vaccinated.
Hamzah said his ministry would also hold talks with all airlines on this matter.
He explained that travellers would need to present their vaccination certificates to the respective airline when purchasing their tickets, and for such documents to be vetted by the Immigration Department.
“However, if the documents had been submitted to Immigration without verifying if they have been fully vaccinated or not, are we going to bar them from boarding the flight? How will they claim compensation?”
