Technical problems forced delays on Kajang MRT line, says Rapid Rail

It says its operations team had to switch to an 'alternative service plan'.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd today apologised to commuters for the inconvenience resulting from the delay in services along the Kajang MRT line.

The company said the disruption was due to technical issues experienced by a train as it approached the Phileo Damansara MRT station.

“Our operations team activated an alternative service plan utilising a track between the Phileo Damansara and the Semantan stations.

“Passengers from Kwasa Sentral were advised to switch to an alternative train at the Phileo Damansara station towards Semantan, and to then proceed with their respective journeys,” it said.

Passengers from Kajang were advised to alight and take a connecting train at the Semantan station towards Phileo Damansara, it added.

The disruptions resulted in the trains stopping for a longer duration at the platforms, causing a delay in their schedules.

“Our technical team is identifying the problem, while our operations team is focused on ensuring passengers’ safety and timely journey.

“The alternative service plan will continue to operate until services resume as normal. In the meantime, commuters may follow our social media platforms for updates,” added the statement.
