The former federal territories minister said Shahidan had clearly stated in the previous Dewan Rakyat sitting that he would hold a meeting with these parties to resolve any confusion on the matter.
“Unfortunately, until today, landowners have told me that no meeting has been scheduled as promised by the minister.
“The landowners were also informed that the federal territories lands and mines office would call a second hearing session on Jan 19 for the purpose of finalising the land acquisition process,” he said in a statement.
Khalid questioned how this could happen when Shahidan had earlier promised to postpone all land acquisition processes.
“Landowners are under pressure, not knowing what will happen. The minister must take responsibility by immediately convening a meeting between the developers and landowners to resolve all issues,” he added.
On Dec 13, it was reported that Shahidan had given an assurance that land acquisition in Kampung Baru would be conducted fairly by giving priority to the interests of the landowners and PKNS flat owners.
He said he would personally negotiate with the owners and developers to ensure a fair agreement could be reached.
“Everyone will be given fair treatment. I think by January it will be solved,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat.
