SHAH ALAM:
Owners of vehicles damaged by the recent floods should lodge police reports in person and not through third parties.

They should also take photographs of their affected vehicles and provide complete information on their condition as well as on any towing companies they had hired.

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Abd Jalil Hassan said to ease the process of filing the police reports, affected vehicle owners should state their vehicle’s location before the floods and at the present time.

“If the vehicles are lost or were broken into, the owners should provide a list of any missing valuables,” he said at a media conference in Taman Sri Muda, Section 25, here today.

Vehicle owners should also obtain information from the towing companies or relevant local authorities on the location of their vehicles.

Jalil reminded vehicle owners to take photos of the tow trucks and their vehicles before they are towed away so that these could be used as reference by the insurance companies.
