However, he said Ismail Sabri Yaakob should name the ministers currently abroad as the tax-paying public wanted to know if the ministers return home as ordered or are defying the order.
“How many ministers are overseas on their end-of-the-year holidays?
“There is no reason for treating this as an official secret because Malaysians are entitled to this information.
“They can then ascertain if any of the ministers are defying the prime minister’s order to cancel their leave and come home,” he said in a statement today.
Lim said this will be a test as to whether Ismail is in charge of the country or is a prime minister who is unable to exercise discipline among his Cabinet members.
Yesterday, Ismail had ordered all ministers who were abroad to cancel their leave and return home immediately, while others with vacation plans were told to put them on hold until further notice.
Lim also asked the prime minister to clarify if the ministers who return will be exempted from quarantine as fully vaccinated Malaysians are required to do so for seven days at home after coming back.
“Furthermore, those returning from high-risk countries where the Omicron variant is spreading are required to wear a digital monitoring device. Will this apply to the ministers?” he asked.
On the government’s contribution of RM10,000 to the next of kin of victims who died in the floods, Lim said this amount should be given to all victims, especially those who had lost everything they had in the disaster.
“The RM1,000 cash aid per family should be increased to RM10,000 as the flood victims have lost everything, including their furniture, personal documents, kitchenware as well as their money.
“They need a much bigger cash aid to help them to get back on their feet as soon as possible.”
