
In a Facebook post at 3.15am today, the band’s management blamed the decision on operational reasons “on the part of the promoter”, and said they were working on a new date for the show meant to mark the duo’s 50th anniversary.
“We will let everyone know when a new date is confirmed,” it said.
Separately, the show’s organiser Twig Events said it was shocked by the last-minute cancellation and that full refunds would be given to those who had bought tickets.
“We are equally shocked, disappointed and saddened by the last-minute development. Refund instructions will be sent directly to all ticket purchasers by email,” it said in a Facebook post.
The company said it was clarifying the situation with promoter Galaxy World Entertainment, maintaining that it had spent months making the necessary preparations for the concert.
It said it would hold a press conference on the issue soon.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and continued support for live music in Sarawak.”
