KUALA LUMPUR:
Electricity supply has been restored in 539 areas affected by the floods in Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur as at 11am today.

Electricity supply was also restored last night to 167 areas in Selangor.

However, another 236 areas in flood-affected states are still waiting for their supply. They include 127 areas in Selangor, 105 in Pahang and two each in Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur.

“If there is still no electricity supply in your area despite the floodwaters receding, it means the power substation supplying electricity to your premises is still not completely safe to reactivate,” Bernama reported Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as saying in its Facebook today.

Electricity was cut off for the safety of consumers.

“Efforts are being made to ensure electricity supply in the affected areas can be restored in stages, depending on access and local conditions,” it said.
