
“Such information is false and has the potential to mislead the public,” it said in a statement.
TNB said it will report the spread of such false information to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission for further action.
It said any adjustment to electricity costs is subject to the automatic fuel cost adjustment mechanism (AFA), which is based on changes in global fuel prices and foreign exchange rates and is adjusted monthly with confirmation from the Energy Commission.
TNB said any changes related to AFA rates will be officially announced through its official channels.
“The company is committed to ensuring that consumers receive accurate and transparent information,” said TNB.
Earlier today, the Energy Commission said it had no immediate plans to review electricity tariffs.
