Abang Jo says no to frogs after crushing win

GPS chairman says the people of Sarawak have given them the mandate to "put the state first".

A victory salute by GPS chairman Abang Johari Openg to mark the coalition’s sweeping success at the Sarawak state elections.
KUCHING:
Gabungan Parti Sarawak chairman Abang Johari Openg has indicated that the coalition will not be accepting defectors following its crushing victory in today’s state elections.

“We do not like frogs and we do not want frogs.”

He said today’s results were proof that the people of Sarawak knew their interests were best looked after by Sarawakians.

In his victory speech earlier, Abang Johari said the GPS victory had put Sarawak on par with West Malaysia as a “regional partner”.

“The people have given us the mandate to put Sarawak first. The people have signalled that political stability is important to bring progress to Sarawak.”

He said GPS was now empowered to continue its people-centric economic development agenda.
