Police launch probe into fight at KL eatery

Police are still looking for individuals involved in the incident.

Police are investigating and seeking individuals involved in a fight that broke out at a restaurant in Jalan Genting Klang yesterday.

In a statement, Wangsa Maju district deputy police chief Saralathan Duraisamy said they had seen a seven-second video on the incident, which was uploaded by Twitter user NanManjoi8715.

He said a police report on the fight was lodged yesterday by members of the public who were at the scene of the incident.

“Following that, an investigation was done by a team of officers from the Wangsa Maju Criminal Investigation Department and the case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.

“Efforts to locate the individuals involved are still ongoing,” he said.

He urged the public not to make any speculation or spread the video, which could cause public outrage.

He said anyone who has information on the incident can contact Wangsa Maju IPD at 03-92899222, call the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-21159999 or head to the nearest police stations.
