State Covid-19 spokesman Masidi Manjun said on Twitter today that Sabah is “considering a better and cheaper alternative” for visitors.
Masidi, who is also the state’s local government and housing minister, was responding to a netizen who had appealed on social media for the government to do away with the rapid test kit (RTK) currently required to enter the state.
Masidi had previously announced that out-of-state visitors would no longer need to obtain entry approval from the state government and police from Nov 1, the day when Sabah lifted its interstate travel ban.
These visitors, however, would need to fulfil two conditions for entry into Sabah – complete Covid-19 vaccination and a negative RTK result.
In his tweet, Masidi reminded the public that they must continue to observe all SOPs although more restrictions would be lifted under Phase 4 of the national recovery plan.
On the daily infections, he said Sabah recorded 554 new cases today compared with 655 in the last 24 hours.
