The former Umno man said that of the whole BN leadership, only former Sungai Udang assemblyman Idris Haron and executive councillor for health Rahmad Mariman had contacted him.
Nor Azman claimed he had Covid-19 on Sept 13 before going through self-quarantine, but was later admitted to the Melaka Hospital on Sept 22 after he began vomiting and experiencing headaches.
He said his oxygen level was below 80% and he needed respiratory assistance.
“Not one of the Umno, BN or PN leaders contacted me via calls or through WhatsApp, Idris and Rahmad were the only ones who were in contact with me,” he said.
Besides Nor Azman and Idris, former DAP man Norhizam Hassan Baktee (Pengkalan Batu) and Bersatu’s Noor Effandi Ahmad (Telok Mas) retracted their support for the state government and announced they no longer supported Sulaiman Md Ali as chief minister on Oct 4.
After the four withdrew support, state speaker Ab Rauf Yusoh announced that Melaka governor Mohd Ali Rustam had dissolved the state assembly.
Meanwhile, Nor Azman denied accusations that he stepped down as an exco member in 2015 because he did not receive a share of a development project in Jasin.
Instead, he said he stepped down as he was unhappy with the actions of a high-level officer who ordered Bumiputera traders’ stalls at Bandar Hilir to be confiscated.
