“Police have arrested two individuals believed to be involved in the incident and investigation papers have been opened under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code,” said Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed today.
“Selangor police guarantee that we will conduct a transparent and detailed investigation, and we will not compromise with anyone – including police officers and staff – found to have committed a crime and broken the law.”
Section 323 of the Penal Code (voluntarily causing hurt) carries a jail term of up to one year, or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both, if convicted.
Meanwhile, Section 506 of the Penal Code (criminal intimidation) carries a jail term of up to seven years or a fine, or both, if convicted.
Earlier today, FMT reported that a woman claimed her friend, who is a deputy superintendent (DSP), borrowed RM100,000 from her to buy the rank of superintendent.
In a police report, she claimed the senior police officer and his friend had separately threatened to kill her and her family for asking that the money be returned.
The complainant, a 36-year-old court interpreter, also claimed that the DSP’s friend slapped her on the cheek when she met the men at a restaurant in Klang to discuss repayment earlier this month.
In a statement, Arjunaidi confirmed that police received a report from a 36-year-old woman regarding a criminal intimidation case involving a DSP, which has gone viral on social media.
