
The first piece concerns a past and present comparison of the country being a “tiger of Asia” that was now rife with corruption. An alternate artwork carries the words “Before Pakatan Harapan” on the tiger of Asia panel and “During Pakatan Harapan” in the corruption panel.
Another piece concerns the logging of forests with the caption “floods are fated by God” with an altered version reading “Only in Penang! Floods are natural disasters”.
The third piece sees three figurines holding up the Jalur Gemilang charging downhill with the caption of “PM & clueless cabinet” while the manipulated one carries a caption of “PH and cluster cabinet” with added termites carrying the words “Tamil Elam, cut allowances, fleeing investors, and BR1M cuts”.

Zunar, whose real name is Zulkiflee Anwar Alhaque, claimed a man who formed a WhatsApp group named “UmnoPas Jom Ranapkan PH” was the culprit.
He said a police report has been lodged at the Pantai police station in Kuala Lumpur, urging police to investigate the theft and forgery of his artwork.
Zunar said the phone numbers of the administrators of the WhatsApp group were included as the culprits in his police report.
“There is no problem forwarding my cartoons. But don’t go forging it. I have discussed with my lawyers about a possible civil suit against them for copyright infringement under the Copyright Act 1987,” he said when contacted.
