“Once again, I would like to stress that the Tabung Haji RCI needs to be transparent and professional with no political agenda behind it,” Mujahid said in a Facebook post.
“If I am called to testify, I am ready to reveal the steps and actions the PH (Pakatan Harapan) government took to save TH, including police reports made against the individuals (allegedly) involved in the misappropriation of TH funds.”
Deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said yesterday that Putrajaya had formed an RCI to probe the management and operation issues faced by TH from 2014 to 2020.

However, he said the RCI’s scope will not include TH’s recovery and restructuring plan, currently being implemented.
Instead, it will focus on findings by auditors from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY) and Roland Berger in that six-year span.
It will also determine whether there were any cover-ups over these issues and recommend appropriate action to be taken.
In response, TH group managing director and CEO Amrin Awaluddin said the fund welcomed the government’s decision to set up the RCI.
Mujahid had said last year that fear of panic among TH depositors was among the reasons the PH government did not set up an RCI into alleged misconduct and irregularities in the pilgrimage fund.
Congratulating the Perikatan Nasional government for “finally” setting up the RCI after 17 months in power, he said today that PH had acted on the report of the audit firms to create the restructuring plan, currently being implemented.
“The restructuring plan was introduced transparently and approved by the Cabinet and explained publicly in Parliament,” he said.
“The issue became hot once again (when) PN came to power and the issue of ‘selling Muslim assets’ continued to be sensationalised despite the success of TH’s restructuring plan being acknowledged by today’s government.”
