Bukit Aman traffic investigation and enforcement department director Azisman Alias said road users currently on trial for their traffic-related offences and who had committed major traffic offences this year, are however not eligible for the discount.
These include offences involving heavy vehicles and exhaust pipe modifications.
Azisman said the payments could be made via the MyBayar Saman portal and app.
“The discount offer is an effort to support the government’s aspiration to provide cashless payment services during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Throughout the campaign period, all service counters at police contingent and district headquarters will be closed to curb the spread of Covid-19 during the implementation of the movement control order (MCO) 3.0,” he said in a statement.
Azisman said police would be improving the MyBayar Saman app to enable companies and business entities to register as users and make payments through the app.
The MyBayar Saman app can be downloaded from Google Play Store, Apple App Store or Huawei Gallery.
