Nga tied for first place with deputy chairman V Sivakumar, both securing 1,228 votes each.
Abdul Aziz Bari, who previously received the highest number of votes at the party’s 2018 Perak polls, came in third place with 1,224 votes.
Nga’s faction won all 15 posts in the party’s state committee, defeating the camp led by Ipoh Barat MP M Kula Segaran and Kampar MP Thomas Su.
The new Perak DAP committee members were announced by Nga, following a meeting after the polls closed. He declined to comment further and only thanked the delegates for casting their votes. A total of 1,731 ballots were issued today.
DAP currently holds 15 state assembly seats in Perak, after three of its members were sacked for defecting to support Perikatan Nasional and violating the party’s directives.
